The Broker - What It Is
Tab Trade opened in March 2026. Online broker incorporated in Saint Lucia, regulated by Saint Lucia's FSRA. The guy behind it is Benjamin Boulter. Prior to TabTrade, he was a senior exec at BlackBull Markets, the New Zealand-regulated broker.
His background matters. It means the founder knows how a proper broker operates. That is not a guarantee. It is preferable to someone with no brokerage experience.
The broker opened with Equinix LD4/LD5 connectivity. Same data centres banks and hedge funds use. The typical new launch focuses on ads and sign-up promos. These guys led with infrastructure. Interesting choice.
The instrument list: forex, indices, metals, commodities, shares, cryptocurrencies, exchange-traded funds. A wide spread. For a broker this new, the breadth is not narrow.
What You Trade On
They offer: MT5, cTrader by Spotware, and web trading. Both platforms from a single account. A lot of brokers commit to either MT5 or cTrader. Getting both matters. You are not locked into one.
MT5 is the industry standard. Full charting, automated trading, tons of scripts and indicators. If you know MetaTrader before, it is familiar territory.
cTrader is the cleaner option. Better DOM. Smoother chart interaction. cBot support. A lot of traders like it better than MT5 after comparing.
FIX API is there for automated strategies but requires the VIP tier ($25k minimum). TradingView charting is said to be coming. That should round things out when it lands.
What You Pay
Three tiers: Standard, Edge, VIP.
Standard. Spread starts at 1.0 pips. Commission-free. Simple. Zero deposit requirement. Suits anyone who does not want to think about commission.
Edge. Raw spreads from 0.0 pips on average. Flat commission of $3.50 per side. What you actually pay: spread plus $7 per lot round-turn. On majors, the actual interbank spread is often below 0.2 pips. Meaning your real cost sometimes sits below 0.5 pips. That is good for a broker with $0 to start. Most platforms that offer pricing like this require a minimum deposit. This broker does not.
VIP account. $25,000 minimum. FIX connectivity, sub-20ms execution, tailored rates. Not relevant to most retail traders. Skip it unless you trade institutionally.
Infrastructure
This is where TabTrade separates from most new launches. Equinix data centres. Under 30ms on Edge. Under 20ms on VIP. These are not marketing fluff. Most retail brokers quote hundreds of milliseconds.
Does this affect you? For short-term trading, absolutely. The gap between a 30ms fill and a 200ms fill is the difference between. If you swing trade, it matters less. But the fact that the infrastructure is there. That is what kind of broker this is.
Put together that infrastructure with raw spreads at $3.50 per side and what you get makes sense. Not many platforms in this bracket run Equinix connectivity.
Regulation
Now, the detail that requires honesty. TabTrade is regulated by Saint Lucia's FSRA. That is outside tier-1 jurisdiction. No ASIC. No government-backed safety net. If that is a problem for you, look elsewhere. Lots of FCA-regulated options out there.
But. Benjamin Boulter built his career at BlackBull Markets, a proper broker. The server placement costs real money. Scam brokers do not bother with tier-1 data centre access. That does not make it safe. It does factor into your decision.
The trade-off: no FCA or ASIC safety net. In exchange: 1:1000 leverage, cheap spreads, $0 to start, Equinix execution. Whether the trade-off is worth it is your call.
Deposit Bonus
Tab Trade has a deposit bonus of up to $2,000. Usual deposit match. You put money in, TabTrade top up your balance. The normal fine print: trading volume requirements before the bonus becomes withdrawable. Review the fine print before funding.
